JULY WTIL BOM

The Block of the Month for July is Eight Point Flag and will give us some practice in working with a triangle unit and long skinny sections of a partial rectangle.  As with the previous blocks, it is a 12-inch finished block but can be drafted to your own preference of size.

This would be a good opportunity to use a Tri Recs tool if you have one.  Sections could be foundation pieced or standard templates used.  It is based on a three by three grid so the squares are cut 4.5 inches for the four corners.  The center square is subdivided into strips---I would definitely foundation piece it rather than have to use itty-bitty templates.

The block source is from Electric Quilt (EQ4) and can be found under the subsection Contemporary Pieced—Flags in the EQ Libraries of blocks.

Have fun and Happy Independence Day!
